It was the year the PS2 finally started making headway. 2000 signaled the slow death of the N64 and the PSX, while cranking out epic titles gamers still play today like Perfect Dark, Diablo II, Deus Ex, The Sims, Dead or Alive 2, Majora's Mask, as well as others. The question is which gaming platform was the most successful in 2000?

Steam for Mac announced, detailed

Launching in April with all Valve's games.
Valve has confirmed its not entirely secret plans to bring Steam to the Mac, and revealed the extent to which the Apple platform now weighs on the studio's thinking.
Steam will launch on Mac in April, and Valve's games - including Counter-Strike, the Half-Life series, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 will be ready then too.
But Valve will also make its future games available simultaneously on Windows and Mac, starting with Portal 2 this Christmas.

Ubisoft DRM was "attacked" at weekend

"95 per cent of players were not affected."
Ubisoft has blamed problems with its controversial digital rights management solution for PC games on outside attacks.
The publisher told Eurogamer that very few players were unable to access PC versions of Assassin's Creed II and Silent Hunter 5 yesterday due to the outage, but apologised to those who did experience problems.
"Ubisoft would like to apologise to anyone who could not play ACII or SH5 yesterday," the company said in a statement this afternoon.
